GIS * Design Consultant - c£20k p.a. - Cambridgeshire
GIS * Design Consultant with one year of experience with GIS and 3D visualisation techniques gained within either consultancy or local government is required for my environmental services client. Excellent Microsoft Access and Excel skills are required and candidates should have experience of AutoCAD and preferably programming in Visual Basic and web solutions. Desirable experience includes MapInfo, ArcView, ERDAS Imagine, 3D visualisation, AutoCAD Map, Access and Excel software.
It is essential that candidates are able to liaise internally with consultants and externally with clients to ensure projects are brought in on time and to budget. Excellent time management skills are required and candidates must have experience of project planning, including management of resources to meet project requirements. Experience of establishing corporate or local authority GIS systems would be highly advantageous and knowledge of the GIS market is also important.
The successful applicant will undertake revenue earning environmental consultancy projects utilising GIS, CAD and visualisation software and will deliver and develop technical excellence in GIS and*or 3D visualisation. Assisting with the management of the graphic, visualisation and design aspects of consultancy projects will form a large part of this role. Daily tasks will include project delivery and management, business development activities and development of our GIS capability. There will also be considerable data handling and use of MapInfo, ArcView, ERDAS Imagine, 3D visualisation, AutoCAD Map, Access and Excel software.
